Second Academic Concentrations

Appalachian State University has four teacher education programs whose majors must complete a Second Academic Concentration. These are:

  • Career and Technical Education (Department of Curriculum and Instruction)
  • Elementary Education (Department of Curriculum and Instruction)
  • Health and Physical Education, K-12 (Department of Recreation Management and Physical Education)
  • Middle Grades Education (Department of Curriculum and Instruction) - SACs can be found in the Program of Study
